Bosnia Day 3

Day 3, Monday, was our first day of working at the school in Glogosnica. The school has only 2 classrooms, 2 meeting rooms, a small kitchen where the staff drink their coffee or tea in the breaks, 2 toilets (standing ups) one for boys and one for girls and in this case also for the teachers and janitor (all female).
On our way to the school we stopped at the local paint shop. Today we started with emptying out both classrooms: everything had to go to the small hallway. Then we cleaned off the walls and taped walls and windows for protection. The top part of both classrooms will be painted with an off-white latex paint. There were not enough step ladders in order for us to reach the top of the rooms. Tomorrow we will bring ladders from the hostel. We also needed to plaster the parts that were too damaged to just paint over.
The bottom parts of all classroom walls will be painted with some sort of special paint that can be washed off easily if need be. This is going to be in a bright blue or green colour, depending on which classroom.

The hardest part was to go around all the beautiful wall paintings that we did not want to ruin. They were a result of an earlier project in this school probably 7 or 8 years ago and they still look fantastic.

For some reason we had to stop at 3pm. Although we didn't feel finished for today, it did give us some extra free time back at the hostel, which was much appreciated as the last couple of days have been organised back to back, so not much time for anything else.

For dinner we went back to the restaurant from day 2 in Konjic. This time "Ćevapčići": little sausages with cut cabbage and some sauce (or even better Bosnian cheese) in a gigantic bread roll. Chips on the side, so again everybody happy!

On the way back to the hostel we did another singing session in the bus. This was continued in the hostel bar, of course with some dancing and a Dordrecht Flash Mob. Great times.
